Guide to the American University of Dubai
Dubai has gradually become a centre for educational institutions that offer quality education and one such centre opened and which has expanded over recent year has been the American University in Dubai. The University is a private university that was founded in the year 1995 and looks to provide its students with quality education using an American style of teaching.
This university is located next to the famous Dubai Media City, the Palm Islands and the Dubai Internet City and is an easy 5 minute drive from the the commercial center: Dubai International Airport is located about half an hour away.
The grounds of the American University in Dubai spans over 1,000,000 square feet and the campus consists of a student center, administrative building and three buildings for 
academics. There are also a number of student residence facilities with a cafeteria as well as facilities for various kinds of sport, both indoor and outdoor.
The academic buildings are shared by eight different departments, which include one for business administration, liberal arts, visual communications, engineering, interior design, English proficiency and information technology. The American University is also home to the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Communication, which offers undergraduate degrees in Communication and Information Studies. The university is accredited by a number of foreign and local bodies and the students in the university are a wide mix of International and local students.
